This weekend, our church is holding a missions conference. There are missionaries from across the town, the state, the nation and even the world.
Tonight, I helped Riley get all dressed up to have a special date night with her daddy. She was so excited to be going to the conference to get to meet real life missionaries. She ranks them right up there with The Incredibles and Peter Pan, but knows they are so much better because they are real!
So, I was wondering what you do to emphasize missions in your homes and churches. How do you teach your kids about missionaries? Does your church do something creative to highlight the Lottie Moon Offering?

Here some of our lastest...
-Last year we had someone dress up as Lottie Moon and do a monologe as Lottie.
- We also have IMB missionaries come during the month of December to emphasize how much they appreciate the offering and to inform people how it it actually used in their ministries.
-As the new year begins we try to have all of our mission trips roughly on a calender and spend a worship service giving descriptions of them so people can go ahead and get their vacations on the calender at work.
-Last year after Thanksgiving we had a World Crafts Party and lots of people did their Christmas shopping. Plus, it made them more mindful of missions during the holidays and they shared the stories of the gifts w/ family and friends. World Crafts was great at getting the gifts delivered promptly. We sold tons of ornaments!
We had a missionary on Sunday morning from Taiwan. It was especially meaningful for us because our choir will be going to Taiwan in 2011 to do mission projects. He invited the church to come along with us. It was a great service.
