So much of this pregnancy has seemed surreal, like it wasn't really happening. Time seemed to go by so slow at first. Then it seemed to speed up. Now, it seems to be taking a turtle's pace once again. Believe me, I knew what was happening, but the arrival and addition into our little family of three didn't really seem possible.
Then last week, a really good friend of mine had her second born here at our local hospital. I went to see her and her new little son as soon as I could. As I held little Hudson, a lot became really real to me really quickly. We were going to have one of these new little bundles of joy. I needed to be ready . . . .
The next day I packed my hospital bag and anxiously awaited the contractions to start. I am NOT superstitious, but I think there is something to the whole full moon thing and also thought that a Friday the 13th birthday could be cool too . . .. But nothing happened.
So here I am, waiting on the Lord . . . I would ask you to post your theories on inducing labor. I have heard a bunch . . . eating Italian food, walking a lot, something about Castor oil . . . but, I have prayed for God's timing for this baby for a long time now . . . even before I was blessed to become pregnant . . . So, why should I try to take this out of His hands now?
How often do we do that? We pray for God's control, His intervention and His timing. Then when things all seem like they are coming together, we try to take the situation back and put our fairy tale ending on it . . . We rob God of the credit and praise that He deserves . . .
So, here I am trusting that my strength will rise as I wait upon the Lord. . . . If you would like to help, post some scriptures and/or stories about times you waited on the Lord and He lifted you up . . .

Ah. . . bless you. I understand those last days are. . TORTURE. I have 4. You are huge, have to use the bathroom every five minutes, you are swollen, heartburn is awful, you are anxious. I would tell you that there's this place above your ankle you can massage that will get the labor increasing once those contractions would begin but that wouldn't be waiting, would it? Our kids in worship are singing Everlasting God and that verse about our strength will rise as we wait upon the Lord comes to my head. May God grant you strength during these days. And in my opinion carrying the baby now sometimes seems easier than carrying that horrible infant seat!
